Glamour Formal Portrait Brisbane
Sola is a high school senior – year 12 student in the Southside of Brisbane and she had a formal party this March.
Sumico Photography captured her formal day – starting from hair and makeup by a very talented hair and makeup artist, Emma Christine.
Prior to the photoshoot, I had a look at Sola’s red dress and I wanted to try “Red on Red”.
I made red paper flowers and pinned them on to the red fabric backdrop. I love the results as it made the whole look transform into another level of gorgeousness. The backdrop made the photo more glamourous.
As this is a photoshoot with one dress, to have more variety, we tried different backdrops. I liked the black backdrop and the olive colour backdrop. They both looked great with Sola’s red dress.
Sola is a talented violinist. She is a member of Australian Youth Orchestra and Queensland Youth Orchestra. She also plays at her high school. For the future musician profile needs, we included portraits with her violin as well.

It would be even better to take portraits of High School Seniors before or after the formal. Why? This is because we can take photos of multiple looks – formal, casuals, sports uniform, etc. Beautiful portraits for high school seniors will be a wonderful gift. The session will boost high school seniors confidence. It would be also an absolute fun for high school seniors to experience this kind of portrait session with her/his friends.
