This is my dear friend and I have known her for a long time. We used to go out together often when we were both single and living in Sydney. I was living in Bronte Beach and she was living in Paddington.
She works for a large insurance company as a manager. She is originally from Japan. She is 50+ and looks amazingly young for her age.
She is married and she has one son who is a very talented cellist and one daughter.
Her son is leaving for England to study music in September.
She came to Brisbane on her holiday in May and I wanted to photograph her, because she is one of my very special friends. I also thought that if her son can take a beautiful photo of her with him to England, it would be a good gift to him from me. I know that boy since he was born.
When I started my first job as an airline crew, I sometimes felt very lonely because I was away from my family. When I had a hard time, I thought of my mother often. Once I had a very sad and lonely moment after the flight from Narita to Los Angeles, I said “mum” and cried in a hotel room. After a good cry, I felt better and went out to the downtown Los Angeles.
I wish that I had a nice photo of my mum so I could see her face and it could comfort me.
I have her photo now next to my computer which comforts me and smile at her photo everyday. That is one of the photos which I took last time I went to Japan.
This is why I wanted to take good photos of my friend and wanted to send photos before her son leaves for England. Also, she has been working very hard for her family and I believe that she deserves great photos of herself.
According to my friend, her daughter was very excited about seeing beautiful photos of her mother. Her son did not show his excitement but I am sure that he likes taking her photo with him for sure.
I believe that all the kids love to keep beautiful photos of mum. They will be the most precious thing for their children in the future, so please exist in photos for them.
